[Libratone to bring AirPlay 2 support to its lineup of home speakers]

Yesterday (Monday June 5 2017) Apple announced the new AirPlay 2 and iOS 11 at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference and Libratone are proud to be among the first audio brands in the world to support it.
According to Simon Peschcke-Køedt, VP Global Marketing at Libratone, the market for multi-room audio has been developing well in recent years - with a few brands, like Libratones, developing their own multi-room system. However, in
general, the awareness of multi-room audio and global sales of multi-room speakers are just a small percentage of the total market.
“AirPlay 2 will mean that millions of people can set music free – by easily
controlling speakers from their Mac’s, iPhones and iPads. Consumers with iOS
devices all over the world will now have multi-room audio control right in their
hands.” Simon Peschcke-Køedt explains.
The most exciting for part for Libratone is the multi-room control – where
Libratone ZIPP and ZIPP MINI speakers with AirPlay 2 support can be connected
simply and easily. “We believe the launch of iOS 11 and AirPlay 2 will significantly
increase consumer interest in the enjoyment and flexibility of connected speakers.
Optimizing the music experience by offering the consumers a maximum of
flexibility and freedom have been our goal all along.” Simon Peschcke-Køedt

About Libratone
Libratone is on a mission to liberate sound and to expand peoples’ experiences
with music in the era of streaming. Founded in 2009, Libratone is one of the first
audio companies to consider the aesthetics of speakers – to move them out of the
corner of the room and into the centre and onward, for the consumer on the
move. Designed in the Scandinavian tradition, Libratone creates high performing
sound refined through plush fabrics for a warmer, brighter listening experience. In
2014, the company welcomed Chinese investment and technological insight,
enabling an unprecedented technological leap forward. The 2015 launch of
SoundSpaces and the new Zipp family is the first launch under the new ownership
and marks a refresh of the Libratone brand.
